5D ultrasound and obstetric-gynecologic ultrasound are two core services at Phuc Khang 5D Ultrasound Clinic. With sharp imaging and a specialist doctor performing the scan directly, each ultrasound not only aids diagnosis but also helps mothers better understand their fetus and their own reproductive health.
What is 5D ultrasound?
5D ultrasound is an advance over 4D ultrasound, adding the ability to render three-dimensional images in real time with better contrast and depth. Fetal images thus become clearer and more vivid, allowing parents to observe movements such as hand and foot motion, yawning and thumb sucking. This is a safe, non-invasive method that does not use X-rays.
What does obstetric-gynecologic ultrasound examine?
- Examination of the uterus, endometrium, ovaries and adnexa.
- Detection and monitoring of uterine fibroids, cysts and adnexal tumors.
- Monitoring of ovarian follicles, the menstrual cycle and support for infertility treatment.
- Screening and monitoring of pelvic abnormalities.
When should you have an ultrasound?
You should have an obstetric-gynecologic ultrasound when you have signs such as menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain or abnormal discharge, or when you need a periodic health check. During pregnancy, 5D ultrasound is usually performed at key milestones as indicated by the doctor.
Ultrasound process at Phuc Khang
At Phuc Khang 5D Ultrasound Clinic, every ultrasound is performed and interpreted directly by Dr. Truong Xuan Luc, MSc - a doctor at Hoan My Private Hospital Binh Duong. The doctor takes time to explain each image so you clearly understand your condition and the appropriate monitoring plan.
Preparation before the ultrasound
Depending on the case, you may need to hold your urine to fill the bladder, which helps produce clearer images of the uterus and adnexa. For pregnancy ultrasound, you should wear comfortable clothing and urinate before entering the room.
